The Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG-CRG) is one of the largest Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. CNAG-CRG researchers participate in major International Genomic Initiatives such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC) and the European Infrastructure for life-science information (ELIXIR), as well as in several EU-funded projects.
It is integrated with the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
In November 2013, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the 'HR Excellence in Research' logo from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).
The CNAG-CRG is looking for a Communications and Data Helpdesk Coordinator for the RD-Connect Genome-Phenome Analysis Platform (GPAP; platform.rd-connect.eu) to participate in Solve-RD (www.solve-rd.eu) and other related projects. Solve-RD is an H2020 project solving a large number of undiagnosed rare disease cases through combined Omics approaches, using the RD-Connect GPAP as one of the key infrastructures. Solve-RD has already collated close to 15,000 exomes and genomes, with their matched phenotypic information, from rare disease patients and their relatives. Projects such as EJP-RD contribute to increase the number of datasets collated and the development of new features, like the GPAP-PhenoStore and GPAP-CohortApp.
The main tasks will be to provide a comprehensive professional support and external helpdesk service for the RD-Connect platform users, including, but not restricted to, user registration, data submissions, data monitoring, assistance, training, communication and dissemination. You will also participate in project management tasks such as the organisation of meetings and drafting of deliverables and reports.
This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research with a substantial direct translational potential. We offer a competitive salary and career progression.
