Strategic Research
Bioinformatics Core Unit (BCU)
The Bioinformatics Core Unit is a team dedicated to support and perform research at CRAG applying computational methods to the understanding of biological questions, ranging from experimental to software design.
In addition to offering data analysis and consultancy, the unit promotes activities such as courses in systems biology and programming, networking relationship with field experts and whiteboard discussion clubs with a focus on open problem analysis and data visualization.
A self-service bioinformatics computing cluster is maintained and available to the research community, and support is provided for software development of tools and data management.
The unit is currently organized in two functional areas, namely Data Analysis and Scientific IT.
